FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, Texas, Nov. 22, 1963
* John F. Kennedy's 1st & final day in Texas
A very notable issue, as this was the day that John F. Kennedy was assassinated, and Fort Worth was his last stop before departing for his fateful trip to Dallas.
The bold headline, dropped out of a nightscape photo of Fort Worth, reads: "WELCOME, MR. PRESIDENT!" Included on the front page is the: "Kennedy Schedule Today" which includes his arrival at Dallas and his schedule there, which was never to happen. He was shot at 12:30 p.m., while the schedule shows he was to have addressed a luncheon by the Dallas Citizens Council, then leave for Love Field at 2 p.m., then depart for Austin at 2:35.
A fascinating issue on what was to have been. There would not have been a compelling reason for this edition to be saved (they produced an "Extra" edition later in the day with the assassination report) so this edition is rarely found.
The complete 36 page issue with all 3 sections, very mild wear at the central fold, very nice condition.
