May 01, 1945

BALTIMORE NEW-POST--EXTRA, Maryland, May 1, 1945  A very large, two-line banner headline announces: "HITLER DEAD NAZIS REPORT" with a large photo captioned: "Adolf Hitler's Latest Picture" and a small photo of: "Admiral Karl Doenitz, Hitler's Successor".
Interesting that the news release from Hamburg, Germany, notes: "...that Adolf Hitler was killed this afternoon in his command post at the Reichs Chancellery in Berlin. The German dictator fought 'up to his last breath against Bolshevism' the announcement said..." with more.
Factual news later would report that he committed suicide.
Pages 2 and 3 have a wealth of photos of his life.
Presumed to be the complete issue in 20 pages, wear at the central fold with a bit of perforation, generally good condition.
Actually an early report as most newspapers reported Hitler's death in their May 2 edition.
