The text notes the state promises "…to pay the Possessor of this note the sum of fifteen pounds by the first day of January, 1783…".
Nice vignette of a pine tree encircled by a rattlesnake engraved by Nathaniel Hurd. This bond was issued to pay the winners in the state lottery. Uncancelled and in great condition, measuring 6 by 9 inches.
