The front page has a report from Congress concerning the use, storage & inspection of gunpowder, signed in type by its President: John Hancock.
The ftpg. also has several reports concerning ht Revolutionary War in South Carolina & Georgia.
But certainly the prime content is the lengthy & detailed account of Washington's retreat from Long Island, taking half of the page, and datelined from Turtle Bay, September 6. A portion includes: "...As soon as it was dark, the army retreated & fro that time to the next morning, 94500 men passed the river, with all our military stores and baggage and most of our cannon, and that was so much secrecy, and silence, that the enemy never so much as suspected it till we called off our sentries from the lines after break of day--it perhaps equaled almost any thing of the kind with which history gives us an acquaintance; and was doubtless a wise measure, and much of the goodness of God is to be seen in it..." plus much, much more.
