England discusses the issue of independence for America... War accounts...

 Pages 2 and 3 have much discussion in the House of Commons concerning the Revolutionary War. A few bits include: "...introduced his motion for a reconciliation between Great Britain & her colonies. Peace, he said, was a desirable object to every man...The people of America...had never thought of independence in the beginning of the contest; they were driven to it on our haughty treatment & arbitrary measures...they had, indeed, insisted on the exclusive right to tax themselves...The war with America, he admitted, had been popular in its beginning; but the delusion soon vanished..." and so much more.
Page 4 has more reports concerning America and the Revolutionary War in a letter from New York. A few bits note: "...Rebellion is almost dead of irts own internal diseases...they tell them they are to obtain independence this session with some other indulgences on account of their glorious struggle for liberty...". Then military reports from Charleston, North Carolina and Virginia.
Eight pages, 8 1/2 by 11 1/4 inches, nice condition.
