SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN, New York, Feb. 2, 1901  The most notable item is found on page 74: "THE BEAUMONT [TX] OIL WELL", now known as Spindletop, which tells of the 1st major oil strike in Texas which had occurred just a few weeks earlier. An article with a related photo are included. Also deserving attention is "Tesla's Wireless Light".
The front page has six photos: "The Steepest Railways In The United States.", three of which are of the famous incline at Pike's Peak and three of the incline at Mt. Washington. A related article is inside.
Also within: article & two photos of: "Basalt Columns called 'Devil's Post Pile" in Yosemite National Park; "Unique Elevated-Underground Street Railway in Boston" "Death of Prof. Elisha Gray" with a photo of him; "New Flying Machine" and more.
Sixteen pages, several library tape mends at margins only, good condition.
