THE INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE, Boston, March 25, 1805
* President Thomas Jefferson
* Act of Congress - Henry Dearborn
Over half a column of the front page is taken up with: "An Act to regulate the clearance of armed merchant vessels.", signed in type by the President; Th. Jefferson.
Page 3 begins with over a column from the "War Department" on securing bids to supply rations to the various forts and installations noted, signed: H. Dearborn, Secretary of War.
With the Act on the front page, combined with the very decorative masthead, makes this a very displayable newspaper.
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, printed on thick-stock newsprint, nice condition.
