Much on Alexander Hamilton...

Item # 685602

September 04, 1802

AURORA GENERAL ADVERTISER, Frankford, Sept. 4, 1802

* Founding Father Alexander Hamilton

 Note that this issue was published in nearby Frankford to escape the Yellow Fever epidemic in Philadelphia.
The front page has nearly a full column with 7 "Reward" ads for runaways.
Page 2 has an article beginning: "Alexander Hamilton's paper says that then principles of the American revolution are to be found in the resolves of congress 14th October 1774..." with much more.
Also on page 2 is a tongue-in-cheek report beginning: "Hamilton's New York paper [Evening Post] has gone to the trouble to publish a few toasts for the republicans--and to do us the civility, of ascribing the whole merit of the invention. And as we never wish to be ungrateful, we present the following cross readings...taken from the New York Evening Post, on the moment of the perusal of the toasts..." which follow, with several having reference to James Callender.
There are at least two more articles with content concerning Hamilton, one beginning: "In the last Chronicle we gave the opinion of Alexander Hamilton on the avowed necessity of introducing two independent branches in the national legislature; an Executive power beyond all reach, during good behavior, that is, indefinitely irremovable by the people of their agents; and a Senate for life..." with more.
Others are shown in the photos.
Four pages, nice condition.
