Item # 685497 THE MASSACHUSETTS MAGAZINE, Boston, September, 1792 First page has: "Description of the Upper Ferry on the River Schuylkill, near the city of Philadelphia", lacking the related plate.
Also in this issue are: "History of the Smallpox" "A Hint to the Ladies" "Method of Imitating Certain Wines" "An Oration Delivered at Taunton, July 4, 1792 at the Celebration of American Independence" "General Moultrie's Letter to Lord Montague" "Reflections on Death" "Thoughts on Grief" "On the Inhabitants of Nootka Sound" which is in the Northwest.
Near the back are two pages of: "Abstract of the Proceedings of Congress" which includes: "A bill providing for the sale of lands in the territory of the Union N.W. of the Ohio, was read the second time..." with other congressional reports.
One report notes: "...a mariner in a state of intoxication fell from the garret window of a three story house, upon the pavement, which put an instant period to his life."
Also various news reports in the "Domestick Chronicle" including a nice report from South Carolina beginning: "On Tuesday last the ground was laid off for the new theatre on Savage's green. The corner stone of the foundation is to be laid..." with more.
A report from the "Western Territory" notes: "The American army...under the command of Major General Anthony Wayne, have lately been exercised & reviewed at Pittsburg...". Much detail on "The new theatre at Philadelphia...".
This magazine was published by the famed printer Isaiah Thomas.
Full title/contents page, 5 by 8 inches, complete in 56 pages, very nice condition.
