Page 2 has an article concerning the Damascus Affair of 1840, which was the arrest of notable Jewish community members in Damascus on the accusation of murdering a Christian monk & his servant for the purpose of using their blood to bake matzo, an anti-semitic action also known as the blood libel.
It has a small heading: "The Jews of Damascus" which notes in part: "...meeting of citizens of Charleston...resolutions were passed expressing the sympathy of the meeting with the unfortunate Jews of Damascus & urging measures for their relief...".
Four pages, nice condition.
