July 07, 1936

NEW YORK WORLD TELEGRAM, July 7, 1936

* 1936 Major League Baseball All-Star Game
* Very 1st National League victory - 4th overall game
* Lou Gehrig era w/ photos - nice headline

The front page has a very nice banner headline: "NATIONALS WIN ALL-STAR GAME" with subheads that include: "GEHRIG, GALAN SOCK HOMERS BEFORE 25,000" and more with box scores. More in the sport's section with a banner pictorial of some of the key players including Gehrig. Related illustration as well. (see) Unusual for such a nice headline on the front page headline as most publications covered this game in the sport's section only. Nice for display. This was the National League's very first all-star game victory.
Complete with all 36 pages, light toning at the margins, small library stamp within the masthead, small binding holes along the spine, generally very nice.
