FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED NEWSPAPER, New York, July 1, 1865 The best & most desired print is the nice half page vertical print captioned: "Grand Match Between the Athletic Base Ball Club of Philadelphia, & the Resolute Club of Brooklyn, N.Y....at the Union Ground, Brooklyn.".
This fine print shows a game in progress, including the full panorama of the field with a crowd of spectators on both sidelines.
Other unrelated prints are within as well but they pale in comparison.
This issue is somewhat "2nd rate" as it is irregular at the spine which causes some print loss to the centerfold, various foxing, some old tape stains. Fortunately the baseball print is unaffected and in nice condition save for a bit of damp staining to a margin not touching any of the baseball print image.
