NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER, Washington, D.C., July 16, 1850
* President Zachary Taylor death - funeral
* From our nation's capital
All four pages have wide black mourning rules for the death of President Zachary Taylor, one of the few Presidents who died in office.
Over half of page 3 is taken up with reports on "The Funeral", the first beginning: "When it became our melancholy duty, nine years ago, to record some account of the obsequies of the lamented Harrison, we little thought that, during our brief remaining term of life, it would ever, certainly not so soon, be out lot to repeat the tale of another Presidential Funeral..." with much more.
Terrific to have this report in a Washington, D.C. newspaper. Four pages, nice condition.
