February 23, 1918

EVENING TRIBUNE, San Diego, Feb. 23, 1918

* The Spanish flu pandemic beginning
* H1N1 influenza A virus still a mystery
* Great headline for display

The front page has a banner headline: "MYSTERIOUS MALADY SPREADS" with subhead. (see) According to wikipedia, this pandemic started in February of 1918. Surprisingly this issue is in good condition being from the "wood pulp" era. Very hard to find issues that are not totally fragile from this era in paper. Rare as such.
Complete with 14 pages, small library stamp within the masthead, small light stain where a label was a removed slightly affects headline, a little irregular along the spine, generally very nice.
