LYON COUNTY TIMES, Silver City, Nevada, Nov. 1, 1874

* Wild Old West ghost town
* Famous mining town

Silver City is pretty much a ghost town today, with several old building still standing from its heyday during the mining era in the 1870's and 1880's. The population from the 2000 census was 170.
Located rather close to the more famous Virginia City, this newspaper began in Silver City in 1874 and relocated to nearby Dayton, Nevada, in December of 1880.
This 4 page issue is filled with Western-style ads on the front page with various news of the day and additional ads on pages 2, 3 & 4.  Very nice condition, never bound nor trimmed, a bit irregular at the margins, new agents' stamp in the masthead. A scarce title from the early mining district of Nevada.
