NEW YORK HERALD, April 1, 1863  Among the one column headlines on the Civil War are: "IMPORTANT FROM THE SOUTHWEST" "The Rebels Retreating from Kentucky and Advancing on Murfreesboro, Tenn." "Soldiers' Riot At Columbus, Ohio" "Important From Western Virginia" "Capture of Point Pleasant by the Rebels" "THE SIEGE OF VICKSBURG" "More Fighting At Fort Pemberton" and more.
Also of note is a page 4 mention of the "Day of National Fasting, Humiliation and Prayer" proclaimed by President Lincoln with a few details but not the actual text.
Eight pages, nice condition.
