EVENING TRIBUNE, San Diego, California, April 11, 1914
* Very early & rare Babe Ruth mention
* Baltimore Orioles baseball pitcher
A very small, inconspicuous report at the bottom of the sports page is headed: "Watch Those Yanks" doesn't do much more than mention a game with the Baltimore Orioles (then of the International League), when Babe Ruth was a member of the Baltimore team. At the very bottom is: "Batteries: Keating, Caldwell and Sweeney; Ruth and Egan".
This is one of the earliest mentions of Babe Ruth to be had, & ironic that this game was against the team he would make famous in a few years.
Always nice to find items of significant people long before they would be prominent in the world of sports or politics.
Complete in 14 pages, very nice condition.
