The 2-line banner headline reports the official end of World War II with the signing of the surrender document on board the battleship Missouri the following day: "TRUMAN, M'ARTHUR AND NIMITZ BROADCAST SURRENDER SIGNING" with various related subheads.
But perhaps most striking is the front page photo of General MacArthur embracing an emaciated General Wainwright, a P.O.W. at the hands of the Japanese for 3 years.
Present are 3 complete sections with 34 pages, which may or may not be the complete newspaper. Nice condition.
