NEW YORK HERALD, Oct. 24, 1858 The front page has over two columns of details headed: "THE OVERLAND MAIL", "Overland Mail Wagon, Near Fort Belknap, Young Co., Texas, Sept. 22, 1858. The article provides significant details regarding a segment of the trip to California, and includes: "The Route from Fayetteville to Fort Smith -- Difficulties of the Ozark Range -- Magnificence of the Mountain Scenery -- The Choctaw Reservation -- Condition of the Negroes Among the Indian Slaveholders... Dreams and Realities, and more." See images for a f handful of photos which provide additional details. A quite interesting report.
Complete in 8 pages, a small stain in the upper right margin, typical small margin edge-tears, but otherwise good.
