July 27, 1812

INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE, Boston, July 27, 1812  The first column begins with a: "Notice To British Subjects" living in the United States, that they have to report themselves to the proper authorities.
This is followed by another similar notice to British citizens in America, and an Act of Congress which relates to "An Act Respecting Alien Enemies" signed by he President: James Madison.
Over half of the front page is: "Prompt Patriotism" concerning America and England.
Four pages, archival mend to page 4 with minor loss to a back leaf corner, generally good condition.
