COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Jan. 25, 1797 The front page has an: "Address Of the Senate of Pennsylvania to the President" headed: "To George Washington, President of the United States". This letter is in response to his famous Farewell Address to the nation, retiring from public service.
It is followed by: "To Which the President returned the following Answer: " and what followed is his appreciative response, signed in type: Go. Washington.
Also on the front page are reports of two events at which there is a toast to George Washington, among others.
