COLUMBIAN CENTINEL, Boston, Dec. 29, 1798 

* United States Navy in it's infancy

Page 2 has a chart headed: "American Navy" being a: "List of Vessels In Service" noting the number of guns of commander of each.
It begins with the "United States" "Constitution" and "Constellation" then 12 other vessels, followed by a list of ship that are "Building" and locations of each.
The back page has an ad: "Wanted, For the Frigate building in Boston..." with details of the ammunition wanted, etc., believed to be for the frigate Salem.
Also of interest is a brief page 2 item: "The Public Buildings in the city of Washington progress with rapidity. The President's palace is finishing. Yesterday the United States frigate Constitution, 44 guns, Capt. Nicholson, sailed from the outer harbor."
Four pages, archivally rejoined at the spine with some blank margin loss at the spine as well.
