THE FLORIDIAN, Pensacola, June 22, 1822 This is the earliest newspaper printed in Florida we have ever offered, and it is a volume one issue.
The front page has 2 letters signed in type by: Andrew Jackson, who at the time was "governor of the Floridas". Inside has a lengthy letter signed by Th. Jefferson, followed by a report on the: "Death of General Stark", the hero of Bennington.
Four pages, never-trimmed margins, archivally rejoined at the interior spine, a few small tape mends, nice condition.
