NEW YORK WEEKLY TRIBUNE, Sept. 4, 1867

* Native Americans - Indians

The years following the Civil War were years of expansion west, causing the inevitable conflict with the Native American tribes. Such reports were not uncommon in period newspapers. This is one such issue.
The front page has: "The Indian War" taking one-third of a column, beginning: "The Montana Rangers, under Gen. Been, expected to move against the Indians in a short time..." with other bits included: "...All the hostile tribes around Fort Phil Kearney are under the leadership of Red Cloud and are bent on war. Black Hawk...favors peace..." with so much more.
Eight pages, very nice condition.
