Item # 675456 THE GENTLEMAN'S MAGAZINE, London, September, 1790  The first article is: "An Indigent Relation of the Great Dr. Franklin".
Other articles include: "Sir P. Warwick's Character of Oliver Cromwell" "Number of Protestants and Catholicks in Ireland" "Porter, When First Brewed?" is on beer making; "Question Relative to Name of Jewish High Priest". There is a report of the funeral procession of the Duke of Cumberland.
News headed: "America" report a treaty has been: "...concluded between the United States and the Cherokee Indians for their mutual accommodation..." with some particulars of it.
All 3 plates called for are present, one including a portrait of Oliver Cromwell.
Complete in 96 pages, 5 12 by 8 3/4 inches with wide, untrimmed margins, full title/contents page with an engraving, great condition.

A very nice 18th century magazine from the "mother country" with a wide range of varied content. This was the first periodical to use the word "magazine" in its title, having begun in 1731 and lasting until 1907.
