Item # 675413 HARPER'S NEW MONTHLY MAGAZINE, New York, January, 1872 The first article is a poem: "The Legend of the Mistletoe" which features a nice engraving of Thomas Nast-esque Santa Claus with cupid on his shoulder. The poem continues to take the next 3 pages with one additional illustration.
Also in this issue is an illustrated article: "Holland & the Hollanders" and a non-illustrated article: "A Merry Christmas" "Is Alaska a Paying Investment?" "A Visit to a Greenland Glacier" with 5 illustrations; "The Danish West Indies" which has 6 prints of St. Croix; and so much more.
Over 150 pages, 6 1/4 by 9 1/2 inches, disbound without wrappers, a small repair at the bottom of the front leaf, some light dirtiness more so at the margins.
