Charge of the Light Brigade...

Item # 674385

December 23, 1854

THE ILLUSTRATED LONDON NEWS, England, December 23, 1854  This is one of the better newspapers to be had on this famous battle from the Crimean War, made so by the well-known poem by Tennyson: "Charge of the Light Brigade".
This issue contains a very dramatic doublepage foldout captioned: "Charge Of Light Cavalry, at Balaclava", and on the next page is a report titled: "The Battle of Balaclava" which has details on the charge of the Light Brigade, including: "...And so, in a purposeless attack, our Light Cavalry Brigade was destroyed, thus affording one more instance of the mistake to which English cavalry officers have always been prone--attempting too much..." with more.
Included within is the "Christmas Supplement" which has many Christmas-themed prints.
Complete in 48 pages, very nice condition.
