Over half of page 2 & a part of page 3 are taken up with what was the third annual state-of-the-union address of the President, signed by him in type: G. Washington. This very historic message begins: "I meet you upon the present occasion with the feelings which are naturally inspired by a strong impression of the prosperous situation of our common country...". It is signed in type by the President: G. Washington.
After its conclusion in the postscript is a note: "The President, then retired, and the members returned to their hall where the speaker laid before them a copy of the speech which was read by the clerk."
Four pages, never bound nor trimmed, minor margin loss at two corner margins not close to any text, bit of foxing, good condition.
