SCRIBNER'S MONTHLY, (New York), November, 1871  The first 17 pages are taken up with a fascinating true-life story: "Thirty-Seven Days of Peril", being the exploits of Truman Everts.
Everts was a member of an early expedition which explored the area which later became Yellowstone National Park. He became lost in the wilderness for 37 days during the expedition and a year later become widely known after writing about his ordeal in this issue of Scribner's.
If you saw the Ken Burns series "The National Parks" you heard of his story and mention of this issue.
The lengthy & very detailed article includes 9 illustrations on his ordeal.
Complete in 128 pages, disbound without outer wrappers, 6 1/2 by 9 inches, very nice condition.
