Beginning on the front page and carrying over to pages 2 and 3 is an article headed: "Texas And Mexico". This concerns the trouble between the two and notes the Mexican perspective near the beginning: "...already by alternate threats & promises they attempt to drive us Mexicans to a renunciation of our rights, and to the abandonment of a territory which they have seized upon like bandits...". Much of the dispute is concerning the area near Santa Fe, present-day New Mexico. Includes is a letter of response signed in type: Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna.
Another page has an article headed: "Florida" which begins: "Twenty-tree settlers with their baggage and slaves, and one with his family, have crossed the Withlacoochee on their way to the Annuktiliga hummock to open a settlement. More are to follow, some probably to Clear Water harbor, west of Tampa, where Fort Harrison is located..." with much more.
Complete in 16 pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, an area of damp staining in the lower right corner, otherwise in very nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
