The "Trail of Tears"... The new Liberty Seated dime...

Item # 671425

July 29, 1837

NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, July 29, 1837  The front page has an article: "Removal of  the Chickasaws" which is about the "Trail of Tears" which offers some detail including: "...They presented a handsome appearance being nearly all mounted...well dressed in their national costume...Not a drunken Indians, we believe, was seen in the company...".
The back page has a very descriptive article: "New Dime" which details the Liberty Seated dime first minted in 1837. A great item for any coin collector. This is followed by: "Killed Again", a curious article.
Sixteen pages, 8 1/2 by 12 inches, very nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
