Page 17 has a brief, inconspicuous, yet historic announcement in early film history. A small one column heading reads: " 'Wizard of Oz' Set for Capital Aug. 17" with text beginning: "Metro's Technicolor production of "The Wizard of Oz" will have its premiere on Aug. 17 at the Capital Theatre. Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland will appear....".
This was this the first mention of this famous film in the famed New York Times. It would make its debut in Hollywood on August 15th.
Complete in 42 pages, this is the "rag edition" printed on very high quality newsprint meant for institutional holdings. Very nice condition.
