The back page contains the music & lyrics headed: "A Song That Is Now Rather Popular" being the music of what we now know as the "Battle Hymn of the Republic" with the lyrics being the original: "John Brown's body lies a mould'ring in the grave..." and with the more famous chorus: "Glory, Glory, Hallelujah!...".
Julia Ward Howe wrote her own words to this tune which have remained popular to this day, and were first published in "Atlantic Monthly" magazine in the February, 1862 issue.
