THE LONDON MAGAZINE, England, May, 1779 Several pages are taken up with reports from parliament with a few bits relating to the Revolutionary War. Plus an article headed: "Relation of the Mysterious Ceremonies used at the Introduction of an Indian into one of their Friendly Societies. From Carver's Travels Through the Interior Parts of North America."
A wealth of other interesting articles such as "A Lecture to the Ladies" and: "On the Fatal Effects of Too Sudden Joy". Plus there is a lengthy: "Description of the Island of Jersey" in the English Channel.
Both plates called for are present being: "The Great Bath of the Alhambra, at Granada' and: "A Perspective View of the Tomb of the Celebrated Rousse".
Complete in 48 pages, 5 by 8 1/4 inches, very nice, clean condition.
Formatted very much like the Gentleman's Magazine but a much more scarce title. The title/contents page features a great engraving of the skyline of London.
