Item # 670106

December 24, 1724

THE POST-BOY, London, Dec. 24, 1724  At the top of the front page is a report datelined: "Boston in New-England, Nov. 9" reading: "Last week arrived Mr. Trisket & one Mr. Hunter from Canada, who bring advice that the best accounts they could get from the Indians that escaped from Norridgewock, there were above 80 kill'd by the English. Seven or eight Mohawks are come to this town, but their business is not yet known."
Other news of the day with much of the bkpg. taken up with ads. A very handsome issue for display as the masthead includes two very ornate engravings, one showing a postboy on horseback trumpeting the news. Single sheet, measures about 8 by 14 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
