"Jack the Ripper" reports were common in the latter half of 1888, capturing the interest of people on both sides of the Atlantic as evidenced by the reports in many newspapers in the United States. It was the international "sensation" of the era, and a case which was never conclusively solved. Not surprisingly, issues of the respected "Times" newspaper from London are the most sought after, being the primary source for Jack the Ripper reports.
This issue is particularly special & desirable as it contains reference to a letter signed by "Jack The Ripper". This page 10 report headed "The East-End Murders" refers to the Whitechapel case, and includes "...afterwards it was found that his signature corresponded with the facsimile letters signed 'Jack the Ripper' and that the description of the man also corresponded with that of the Whitechapel murderer circulated by the Metropolitan Police..." with more.
Reports which actually include the words "Jack The Ripper" are very uncommon, and desirable.
Complete in 16 pages and in uncommonly nice, clean condition. Library stamp in the masthead. A fine opportunity for a desirable title with Jack the Ripper content.
