December 07, 1942

EVENING PRESS, Guernsey, Channel Islands, Dec. 7, 1942 Although there are nice pro-Nazi war reports on the front page, the most interesting report is a rather small one near the middle of the front page headed: "The Jews New Home".
It notes near the end: "...Now that the United States have  become interesting in the Mediterranean countries, it is thought that these countries must become the country of all the Jews in the world. The Government at Washington has assured the Jews  that a Jewish state was a matter already decided."
An interesting announcement given the year.
Four pages, small binding holes at the blank spine, great condition.

This newspaper was published on this island in the English Channel and was occupied by the Germans during most of WWII, from July 1, 1940 through May 9, 1945. During the Nazi occupation they took over this newspaper and filled it with pro-German propaganda, offering a unique insight into how the Axis reported the news during the war.
