October 15, 1870

THE OUACHITA TELEGRAPH, Monroe, Louisiana, May 19, 1869

* Very rare publication
* From the deep South
* Quachita Parish - LA

A quite uncommon title from the northern portion of Louisiana. In fact Gregory's "Union List of American Newspapers" notes only one institution in the country has this title, it having just a single issue from 1870.
Among the articles: "M. A. H. Stephens on State Sovereignty" "The Ma; Who Pulled General Jackson's Nose" "Gen. Lee Visits President Grant" "Six Days Across the Continent" has some great content and takes nearly a full column
Four pages, printed on somewhat thick-stock newsprint, a few foxing spots, nice condition.

Category: Post-Civil War
