The top of page 3 has: "Indian Hostages - Official" which notes: "The distinguished Indian warriors, ...Black Hawk....have arrived at the seat of government from Jefferson Barracks. They were conducted thither...We understand that these celebrated Chiefs of the Sac and Fox Tribes are held as 'hostages for the future good conduct of the late hostile bands'..." with more.
Four pages, minor loss to a blank corner, very nice condition.
