Breaking news on page 7is headed: "PEACE! ! !" with the report reading: "We have received OFFICIAL INFORMATION that the DEFINITIVE TREATY WAS SIGNED AT AMIENS ON THE TWENTY-SEVENTH MARCH, by the Plenipotentiaries of England, France, Spain and the Batavian Republic".
This was the Treaty of Amiens which temporarily ended hostilities between France and the United Kingdom during the French Revolutionary Wars.
Eight pages, 9 1/2 by 11 inches, nice condition.
