FRANK LESLIE'S ILLUSTRATED, New York, Oct. 9, 1858  Inside has a nearly half page print: "Shipping the Recaptured Africans on Board the U.S. Steam Frigate Niagara, At Charleston, S.C." along with a smaller print of a: "Group of African Negroes on Board the Niagara." There is also a related article on the captured slaves: "African Negroes on Board the Frigate Niagara".
Other prints include a front page of: "Terrible Situation of Mr. Thurston, the Aeronaut" hanging on to his balloon; a dramatic doublepage centerfold on the: "Destruction of the Hamburg Steamship 'Austria' by Fire..." with 2 other related prints; diagram of the Volcanic Repeating Rifle Manufactured by the New Haven Arms Co."; and a full page: "Laying the Corner Stone of the Inebriate Asylum at Binghamton".
Sixteen pages, some minor wear & light dirtiness, good condition.
