The front page has two-thirds of a column taken up with reports concerning the Harper's Ferry raid by John Brown, headed: "Insanity of Gerrit Smith" as well as; "Treatment of the Counsel of John Brown at Charlestown, Virginia".
Page 3 has a column headed; "New Excitement at Charlestown, Va." which has additional news concerning the Harper's Ferry raid.
