NEW YORK TIMES, Sept. 4, 1867

* General George Armstrong Custer

The middle of the ftpg. has a small report headed: "The Trial of Major-Gen. Custar [sic]" which includes: "...Custar has been ordered to Fort Leavenworth for trial...on his return to Fort Wallace...Custar...left his command at Wallace & proceeded to Harker as fast as jaded horse-flesh would bear him. The charge against him is for leaving his command...".
Page 2 & 3 have baseball reports: "Base Ball-Picked Nine Match--New York vs. Brooklyn" with various detail and the box score. Minor loss here affects about 3 letters.
Eight pages, minor disbinding indents at the blank spine, nice condition.
