Inside has over a full page containing a speech of Governor William Franklin--a Loyalist and Ben's son--to the New Jersey Assembly. The tone of the speech is very supportive of the King of England. The following page has news from the Montreal vicinity.
Also a letter from New York signed by: Robert Rogers, and then a report noting in part: "...that Mr. Adams and Mr. Hancock are not upon the best terms..." and that: "...several of the heads of the congress had sent letters to Gen. Howe...not very distant when the present disputes will be amicably settled." Many other reports on the war, including a bit noting: "Capt. Allen is still in Pendennis castle, and not returned to America as hath been reported."
Complete i 32 pages, 5 by 8 inches, disbound, very nice condition.
