THE SCOTS MAGAZINE, Edinburgh, Scotland, November, 1776  A terrific issue on the capture of New York City plus so much more. One report headed: "America" begins: "In our last we gave the accounts...of the King's troops getting possession of New York; we shall here give extracts from private accounts..." and what follows are several detailed accounts on the capture of New York There is also a very notable, yet brief and inconspicuous, reference to the hanging of Nathan Hale taken from a letter dated September 25: "...On the 22nd we hung a man who was sent as a spy by Gen. Washington." History reports that Hale was hanged on Sept. 22.
There is a report from the Continental Congress signed by: John Hancock, plus a: "Declaration" signed in type: W. Howe concerning the returning of order to New York City. Several more reports follow as seen in the photos. Plus even more not shown in the photos.
Complete in 56 pages, disbound, 5 by 8 inches, "Contents" noted on the front page, great condition.
