The ftpg. has a letter from Sir Henry Clinton to Lord G. Germain dated at James Island, South Carolina, in which he reports the latest news on the Southern campaign from his perspective. A few bits: "...My intention is to pass to the neck of Charles Town as soon as possible. The enemy, I find, have collected their whole force to that place...the rebels have made the defence of Charles Town their principal object..." and more.
Page 2 & 3 have a letter from General Knphausen to Lord G. Germain dated at New York with the latest war news including 2 mentions of General Washington, than a very lengthy letter from Major General Pattison to Lord Germain also dated at New York which has mention: "...strongly reported that General Washington was meditating a great stroke upon New York with his whole force..." with much more on this.
This is followed by over a page noting the: "Present Strength of the Armed Forces in New York...".
Four pages, 7 3/4 by 12 inches, full red tax stamp on the ftpg., great condition.
