June 29, 1864

NEW YORK DAILY TRIBUNE, June 29, 1864

* Abraham Lincoln nomination
* American Civil War reporting

Page 4 has an historic report headed "The Presidential Nomination" "Mr. Lincoln's Acceptance" with the text taking over a full column and signed in type: Abraham Lincoln. Obviously this was the step necessary for him to be on the Republican ballot for the general election in November, which he won, only to be assassinated the month after his inauguration.
The front page has nice column heads on the Civil War including: "THE GREAT CONTEST" "How the Rebels Were Repulsed" "The Colored Troops Stand It Well" "Later from Sherman" & more.
Eight pages, very nice condition.
