Technically Alexandria was a Confederate city for one day, as the day after Virginia voted to secede from the Union federal troops moved in this city neighboring the nation's capital and occupied it.
The front page begins with: "The Military Situation" with various war reports. Inside has various war-related items including; "Why Gen. Hooker Crossed the River" "Letter from Wheeling" and "The Raid of Gen. Stoneman" plus more.
The back page has a full column taken up with a: "Proclamation By the President of the United States, signed in type: Abraham Lincoln.
Four pages, 9 by 12 1/2 inches, very nice condition.
