PRATT DAILY TRIBUNE, Pratt, Kansas, November 16, 1959
* The Clutter Family murders in Holcomb (Garden City), Kansas
* In Cold Blood - real-life murders inspired Truman Capote
The three column headline on the front page has: "Mystery Surrounds Slaying Of Family Near Garden City", which tells of the gruesome murder of the Clutter Family in Holcomb, Kansas, which later became the inspiration for Truman Capote's noteworthy non-fiction novel, "In Cold Blood." Other news of the day is found throughout.
Complete in 10 pages, some close-trimming along the right margin impacts some related text, otherwise good. Nice to have in a neighboring-town newspaper.
Note: Six weeks after this report, Richard "Dick" Hickock and Perry Smith were arrested for the murders and were later executed by the State of Kansas.
