NILES' WEEKLY REGISTER, Baltimore, February 18, 1826  The front page has an article which begins: "A treaty with the Belantse-etea, or Mennatarees, was concluded between gen. Atkinson and maj. O'Falon & many chiefs of this tribe at the Lower Mandan village...It provides for a friendly intercourse between the parties..." with more.
Also on the ftpg. is a report which reads in part: "bring in a bill authorizing Thomas Jefferson to dispose of his estate by lottery...The public will learn this with deep regret--that he who drafted the Declaration of Independence, who has filled the high & responsible office of president of the United States--the great statesman & profound scholar...should, in the evening of his days, be embarrassed in this circumstances..." with more.
Sixteen pages, 6 1/2 by 10 inches with various foxing. Generally in nice condition.

As noted in Wikipedia, this title: "...(was) one of the most widely-circulated magazines in the United States...Devoted primarily to politics...considered an important source for the history of the period."
